Make sure you have first secured your trip to Long Island as there are often limited seats available. Book this portion of your trip first, then work backwards.
It is relatively easy to get to Nassau or Georgetown – but more challenging to get to Long Island, so book this portion first.

Fly Fort Lauderdale to Long Island

Departs from Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (KFXE) directly to Stella Maris Airport (Long Island). Scheduled flights are on Thursday & Sunday. Pet Friendly.
Not the cheapest way to get to Long Island, but if you have to overnight in Nassau, it may be less expensive in the long run.

Fly Commercial To Georgetown
& Ferry to Long Island
Fly any major commercial airline into Georgetown, Exuma International (MYEF) which is Great Exuma Islands – 15 miles from Long Island.
Then arrange to take a 1.5 hour ferry to Salt Pond, Long Island on the Sheep Runner Express

(runs M-W-F of each week) OR use one of the charter flights above (Stella Maris or Marty Fox) for a 15 minute flight from Georgetown to Long Island. Georgetown, Exuma has direct flights from Toronto (Air Canada), Miami (American Eagle) and Atlanta (Delta).
